Very nice bro..I was there for about an hour, but couldn't get close to the middle part, so I left after an hour, due to the heat of the night...been attending Chap Goh Meh at Jonker Walk since 2007 though, maybe I got a bit bored that day so I left earlier. The last time they got the '1000' lions was in 2007. Then in 2008 and 2009 it was basically a 'mirror' image as both years have the same performances. Looks like in 2010 they brought back the '1000' lions again.

not really, like the lion dance one kenot use flash cuz it might be hazardous to the dancer. The flash might blind them for split second and cause accident.

would prefer to try slow shutter on lion dance only if i have tripod Sad
panning with 10-22 on dragon dance/ lion on stilts doesnt seem interesting tho
