Re: Nissin Speedlite...
my personal experience on friends nissin tat i use before...
1) 622 - The WB is good, and consistent on canon. Din hear him complain and still taking good family portrait.
2) 622 - The WB is inconsistent, i m not sure the TTL reading is accurate because it will give me over expose most of the time. on a canon as well. If this user see this, he will give a more detail explanations...hahaha oh yes, he is changing it to ori soon...
3) 866 - the WB is super good, GN is high, the power is strong and its comparable to the top range of flash for other brands. On a canon. So far no problem.
4) 866 - the WB is good but sometime have connection problem on a nikon camera. i m not sure abt the connectivity. but it seems 3rd party have inconsistency.
The money you invest, i think its worth it la. of cos everyone know ori is the best, if budget not a concern, just go ahead. or go for ori but lower range.

Re: Nissin Speedlite...
The only 866 unit around among us I think..maxgoh wrote:ok, Jackson, plz reply this thread. as i know you are the nissin supporter~
Basically the complain I know of the 866 is that the light trigger not as sensitive as the SB900.

Re: Nissin Speedlite...
buy what u can afford....of course more expensive speedlite is better......same as everything else...bmw sure better than proton
i used nissin 622 before, i can say the recharge rate is slow, ettl not so accurate, no high speed sync, eat battery very fast..... but quality u get what u paid for...but still usable lah

Re: Nissin Speedlite...
Yeap got to agree with that, at that price the only Nikon speedlight is the SB600 which is a lower range compared to the 866.

Re: Nissin Speedlite...
hi Peisee,
I'm using Di622. Not too sure which model u r looking at?
If u r on a budget, i think this is the best flash u can get (worth the money). Bought mine for RM430 only.
But overall performance wasn't that good especially if u r taking events.
the TTL not accurate and the exposure not consistent. That's my experience and i believe Jacky experience my nissin too....hahahah
But at times....it can be ok.
Mine have some connection problem too....sometime it cant flash...so have to deattach again....
Definately, ori Canon will be the best choice...Just got mine today and really good.Got the exposure that i want.
Why not come to our gathering next monday, then u can try my Di622 and Jackson's 866 before u decide.
Just my experience........

Re: Nissin Speedlite...
If u r serious in photography, save more for ori and of course pocket must permit also....
Re: Nissin Speedlite...
Flash capability does matter if you're doing a lot of indoors. Unless you're on FX + big primes then can probably rely on available light. But still, flash is required to fill in for the shadows when needed.

Why not just wait a while for the latest release of SB-700....
Re: Nissin Speedlite...
True, the SB700 has similar interface like the SB900 much more user friendly compared to the SB600/SB800.
