I heard from someone long time ago that buying camera accessories in Singapore is cheaper....i am not sure if this is still true, as i have not been to singapore for years...and the dollar has appreciated a bit.

Anyway, i am looking to buy camera backpack, either lowepro, kata, etc etc....and since the singapore great sales is coming soon, i am not sure if it is good choice to drive down there to grab some backpacks....

anyway can confirm this piece of news, whether is true or not...thanks

yes...some are cheaper....but different not much maybe few hundred...u need to count the expenses and time wasted to travel to singapore to buy the item and need to make sure the item got international warranty, if not any problem need sent to singapore again for warranty...u may check the prize here for comparison..http://www.clubsnap.com/ singapore photography forum

expenses to singapore is not a problem, as i can take it as a holiday trip oso with family...long time never been to spore,..and it's good time to bring them there for a short visit..

i just wanna to know if coincide with great spore sales better or wait end of the year (no sales) better...

just wanna know if great spore sales has good discount on bags or not only

I would suggest that you get the price of the bag that you want to buy before heading down to Singapore. With the sale tax of 7%, I don't think it is cheaper here. The only good thing buying in Singapore is choice. Consider the exchange rate too (SGD1 = RM2.41).
Last year I was consider buying Crumpler and found that Crunpler(KLCC) is selling cheaper than in Singapore.

thanks...yeah..i know the normal price,..but if anyone has any experiences prior year that camera bags can be discounted further during great spore sales ?

Great Spore sales claims that items can e discounted as low as 70% !! and with further perks for tourist purchase, and GST claims , etc etc

anyone have ever bought camera items before during the previous years great spore sales ?
