50D or D90

i currently using 500D but i going to sell it and get upgrade but i dun know wat should i go for...
50D or 90D?

You are a Canon user right? If you were to switch to D90, you have buy the accessories again.

First, is D90 not 90D,
2nd, tell u honestly, Canon550D is better
3rd, The only camera that can win Canon 550D is canon 7D

which part of 500D u dont satisfy?

iso wise i think 500D is good already

dont upgrade and buy a better lens, 50 1.4 or 85 1.8

Canon 550D is the one at RM3188 on promo (kit lens 18-55mm)?
Isnt it on the same range as D90?

Am using D40, thinking upgrade but not sure how Canon range perform.

50D max ISO 12800, D90 is 6400.

3) Do you shoot in the rain?
50D has weathersealing

4) Do you do High Speed sync flash photography?
50D does 1/8000, D90 on 1/4000

D90 has 11 point AF compare to 9 on 50D
D90 weight less than 50D

most important is to go and have a feel of both camera.. as you'll be holding onto it for a long time. If the feel is bad, you'll not stick to it long.

Btw, why do you wanna 'Upgrade' from your current gear?

Only advantage on 550D is high megapixels and HD video. Other than that, it is just an entry level camera. High megapixels = more noise in low light.

so i nw consider 50D but 50D almost same wit 500D...

i up grade to mid range cam coz 500D really many noise in low light.

The 50D has bad ISO performance as compared to 7D, or even the older 40D.

This is captured by 550D ISO 6400.......really have some improvement form canon

i think go for higher range.... pointless to go like 500d to 550 or even D90.
go at least to D300s or even 7D.... that only will show more differences

yup CY...bought last week.......my opinion...from 450D to 550D.....they really hav good control on ISO noise

U r right Jon, is pointless to upgrade from 500D to 550D.

50d will give you some edges over 500d on the kelvin temperature, faster fps... that's all... as for the noise control, i don't think it is any better than 500d (maybe yes, but not obvious).... if you need these 2 and if budget it slim, then get 50d (import set is about 3200rm).
40d could be a great option if you don't mind an old machine...

else stay with 500d until the replacement of 50d is out...

don't jump from 500d to 550d, is a waste... i agree with simmon...

7d is good but the price is sky high for some people...
and i heard that the ISO 400 and ISO800 will give you same EV, maybe Goh can tell us more on this...

haha bro sell ur 500D...... buy 550D (if u under budget) buy 7D ( if ur enough budget).......or wait until 8D out..... or maybe higher level 5Dmark III........

** for me 550D is more than enough for a entry level and much much better than D90 ... nikon going to dick out D90s very soon to compete 550D...

^ D90 has the best sensors among the crop frame DSLR body. 550D probably ranks the same as 7D due to the same sensor as 7D.
