Nikon announces AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED and AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR

AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED

TOKYO – Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED. This is a high-performance lens compatible with the FX format. With a focal length of 24mm, it offers excellent rendering with a fast maximum aperture of f/1.4.

The latest fixed focal-length lens compatible with the FX format, the AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED is an wide-angle lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4. It offers superior optical performance through exclusive Nikon technologies such as the application of Nano Crystal Coat and construction that includes ED and aspherical lens elements. When the lens is used with an FX-format digital-SLR camera, images that make the most of the fast aperture with large and pleasing blur characteristics can be captured for photos with dynamic perspective.

Nikon's development of the FX format, currently consisting of D3-series and D700 digital-SLR cameras, has received tremendous support from professional and advanced amateur photographers. The AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR is released as a new category of NIKKOR lenses. It is equipped with vibration reduction (VR II) offering camera shake compensation equivalent to a shutter speed increase of approximately four stops and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM), and supports the maximum aperture of f/4 through the full range of focal lengths. The lens also utilizes exclusive Nikon technologies such as the application of Nano Crystal Coat and construction that includes ED and aspherical lens elements. The equivalent of the 17-40L from Canon . New Nikkor lens are pretty sexy, with the gold ring + gold N word!

Then Next time We also got "L" Lens ....ha ha ha

More like 'N' lenses, those with the special Nano coatings LOL. Must be a marketing from Nikon to indicate the expensive lens against the cheaper lens. If you did notice, all the new high end lens comes with gold ring and the 'N'.

Yup CY now they like to include the gold RING .....later i D.i.Y on My 18-55mm Kit lens as well ha ha ha

Its another market hype! To label the professional expensive lens apart from the entry levels . But got to admit, it make the lens look macho la.
