600 more pricier than the 105 VR :O. I wonder Nikkor got any equivalents or not... This one 5:1 is extended one right? Means it has something like a built in extension tube?

He no longer using flash bracket. He is using MT-24 EX instead

zongzien wrote:wow...very nice^^
Thanks =)

Yup....there are currently no substitution for this lens, from 1:1 to 5:1 in just a turn of fingers Twisted Evil

simmon wrote:Nice good can u share your setup?
Mine just 1000D + Tamron SP90mm + 580EX II (DIY reflector), borrowed MP-E 65mm + MT-24 EX (DIY diffuser) for few shots

andrewgan wrote:woh..impressive marco photo..like 16..

CY wrote:MP-E 65mm, 5:1 magnification ratio.. crazy lens :O. Wonder what's the pricing like?
Around RM3000+- can get a new 1, not overly priced in my opinion

Fred wrote:Fuh~! Nice one !! Sure u hv a great time and gaining heck lot of experience outing with him. Smile
Yes...close proximity learning

CY wrote:600 more pricier than the 105 VR :O. I wonder Nikkor got any equivalents or not... This one 5:1 is extended one right? Means it has something like a built in extension tube?
No substitute for this lens at the moment. 5:1 is its maximum magnification, not extension tube or whatsoever. (Just like our normal lenses, have both minimum and maximum magnification, which are often unknown to us)

From the way I'm reading how this lens works, it is like extending the lens for higher f/stop. Some sort like those lens fitted with extension tube and the f/stop increases according to the tube length.

If u wanna say a lens with variable extension tube, a macro bellow suits better the description.

MP-E 65mm is just another lens with moving glasses to increase/decrease the magnification ratio. The last element of glass (the piece nearest to your camera mount) still remains static, where bellow/extension tube does not.

Jameslye wrote:1:1 still need to crop to get images like this,sp90mm 1 : 1 on hold,i want 5 : 1 now wakakaka
Most of my shots are only 1:1 without crop, unless otherwise specified.
