Photos from last weekend's Taman Seribu Bunga outing
Finally have time to touch up the photos a bit and upload it here.
Well, nothing to shout about the photos, nothing as close to what Fred has done with his 'flower in the water drop' snaps Not able to get big head-shots of the bees and dragonfly too, as my lens is too short (60mm) and if i go too close they just flew away. Dont dare to go anywhere near bigger bees though, no need to risk my life for it Anyway, tried some 'shoot-into-the-light' shots, and almost hurt my own eyes while focusing as the bright bright sun shines directly into my eyes, damn painful. Well, enough rubishing, here are the photos, please critics

Thanks Nick,
I thought the photos were so terrible no one bother to give any comments @_@
Yupe, #6 is my own favourite too but execution slightly wrong, the small grass on top is not in focus, DOF too shallow. But I like it because I am relating it to my angel which is still in wife's tummy, due in 3 weeks time
Glad that you like it too
Cheers!

Thanks James!
Actually I have it visualized before I press the shuttle button. Too bad its not executed as I would want it to be, should have pay more attention The grass at the bottom should have only 1 , and the rest should have been PSed, but I am not a PS guy, and I dont like to add/remove things from my shot, I will try to include/exclude during composition of my image, and if I cant do anything about it, then I will just leave it there
Yes, all shots done on SP60. Its a versatile lens
Don't worry I am not salesguy from Tammy
Cheers!

Hehe, well I do hope I am Tammy salesman, I need to find out why there's under exposure when using SP60 on Nikon body (well its not a serious problem for me, just need to keep an eye on the EV as well as the histogram)
I have yet to try SP90 but I heard it can be use for good macro shots, and its a FF lens. SP60 the main selling point is great optic, great color, and its suitable for both Macro (1:1) and for Portrait (F2). Even shoot at F2 the image is awesome Some lens when wide open it is tend to be soft, but this SP60 is sharp sharp all the way Only issue is under exposure (reported by few nikon users but no official info from Tammy) and slow focus speep, sometime the AF hunt can be annoying, and the sound of it doesnt help at all. If you intend to AF on a macro shot of an insect, it will just freak out and dissapear faster than your AF speed
Hope this info helps

No, no converter, nothing, just D300 + SP 60 (without UV filter or CPL), and SP600 firing wirelessly.
Re: Photos from last weekend's Taman Seribu Bunga outing
thanks chong i will love to try my macro soon once i ve get one of these hehehe

Well, I like journalism style of photography, hence the arrangement of photos is in accordance to sequence of event too, and all shot-as-is, no posing, no arrangement (well, no one can instruct a bee to pose, anyway )
Glad that you like it

Well SP60 only is not sufficient to get a 'head/shoulder' shot of insects, you will need other add-ones like teleconverter or other macro add-ons Or you just need to go near a bigger bee heheheh, that could be quite interesting, taking photo of the huge bee that stings you Hehe, kidding
If SP60 alone then you have to go very near to the insect, and that will scare the hell out of them
Good luck

Chong, please limit your photos per post cos it's very annoying for people to memorize the long list. Thanks for sharing.
