Re: Chinese Garden - IR

Re: Chinese Garden - IR
it can be fitted on most cameras with the help of converter even if the size doesn't fit your camera. this is a 52 mm if i rmbr correctly but it comes in some other sizes too. do note however that DSLR's will need modification to do IR shooting because their hot screen is more powerful and wont allow IR light to filter through. the modification involves removing the hot screen and replacing it with a cut up piece of the IR filter internally. this modification renders the camera IR worthy only and it cant shoot normal colours anymore. the good part about permanent modification is that u can use it at hand held speeds and don't need to attach the filter anymore as its built in..then disadvantage is that it can only shoot IR from then on and not normal photos.
Lower ranges like semi works best without the modification but u need long exposure time (about 6-15 seconds) and need to use a tripod. the good thing about it is u don't have to modify the camera and it can still shoot normal coloured photos.
Even compact cameras will work but lens cant be attached so u still have to operate and change the hot screen but its definitely a cheaper alternative then a perma mod on a DSLR if you just wanna play play.

Re: Chinese Garden - IR
problem is i dont know anyone who does it locally. i know majority who modify their new dslr's usually send their camera to indonesia there are several guys there who are pro's who modify even 5D just for IR. they charge about MR800 for the mod but the shipping itself would have costs about RM500+ i think some people do actually DIY it themselves but problem with DSLR mod is that it has to be recalibrate. think there is a guy in SG who does but only certain models. not too sure bout the charges though.

Shivan : blehz im not so rich till can afford a pro DSLR to mod lah. wait i strike lottery first lah hahaa.
they guy you mentioned is fireworms..he seems to try to duplicate the filter effects of the Indonesian chap for a slightly cheaper price and even gets stocks from them. effect and final results however arent as impressive at all =(.
