Re: Insects Macro shot
Well thanks for the nice words but I think I still need to learn from you instead
Yah, I think the flash thing really makes lighting more manageable so that we can concentrate on focusing/composing rather than worrying about lighting.
Let's meet up sometime and you can play with it.
By the way, are the images overexpose?
I am using my laptop to adjust the contrast so it might not be perfect as LCD on laptop sucks.
Need Apple's LCD, that one damn gorgeous

Re: Insects Macro shot
I checked the histogram for some of them, indeed a lot of blown highlights.

Re: Insects Macro shot
mmm, interesting. I think it was slightly under expose when I took the image, then when I post process I might have blown it. Got to be careful next time. Thanks ! Thinking of getting a new monitor now

Re: Insects Macro shot
It isn't about the monitor, you need to watch your histogram while processing it. Avoid clipping on the right corner, these details will be gone once clipped.chongcs wrote:mmm, interesting. Re: Insects Macro shot
Yup, thanks for the advice.
Normally I dont see the histogram in the processing software Just rely on my eye sight... you are right, need to keep an eye on it next time.

Re: Insects Macro shot
Its not about the exposure, is the softness of the lighting - the shadow, the background, the reflection, the burnt out area etc...chongcs wrote:
