You don't have much choice, its either the 55-250 or 70300 or 70200 already.

Agreed, else the lens would be useless indoor. But actually 55-250 shoot indoor also very tough even with flash.

Wah, you actually have a 55-250? Haven't seen you using before! Must be due to the small aperture issue Razz.

Haha, all the time I see you using 50mm f/1.8. Never once see you with that tele lens.

Must have been because that lens fail badly indoor due to such aperture and you would rather stick with the 50mm f/1.8 for bigger aperture ;-)

Conclusion, these lens aren't build for indoors. Smile If you want to shoot indoor events, you need something with bigger aperture. 70200 f/2.8 is a good example, else the 70200 f/4 should be ok too.

Adrian,
I used to have this lens with 500D but all traded in for 5DMk2.

Looks a little soft, maybe because of movement. But shutter is 1/400s already hmm.

Cy, this lens is not really a top of notch lens. Printing a normal size 4R should be OK.
Adrian, the AF assist light may not fall onto the object that you are trying to focus. I think thats why you have problem with your AF other than the middle AF point. Try to use the middle AF point and also use AF lock when you are in such situation. May be you should set the AF button to both AF lock + AE/metering. Try different setting that suits you best. May be rest of the photonian have other suggestion.
