Leica has officially revealed the M9

Leica has officially revealed the M9 - a full frame version of its M-mount rangefinder. The Leica M9, with its 24 x 36mm, 18 megapixel sensor is, according to the company: 'the world's smallest full-frame system camera.' The body is available in a new 'Steel Gray' finish and offers minor button re-arrangement over the M8 - all the major changes relate to the internals. The Kodak-developed CCD sensor features improved offset microlenses to optimize performance at the edges of the frame along with a sensor cover with improved filtering of infrared light so lens-mounted IR filters are no longer needed. Most importantly, the 35mm film-sized sensor means every Leica M-mount lens provides the originally intended field of view.

yup...saw this camera at KLPF last time......the price from RM4k.....and above......

This camera RM4k and above? Or you mean the brand, Leica? Leica always not my choice, I don't quite like the old school design haha.

fyi, Leica M8 is selling at RM13xxx
so i think M9 will be RM15xxx at least
i love its 50mm f/0.95.. the price is.... a Toyota Vios

after check at Shashinki malaysia......Leica M9 cost Rm26,790

I mean, RM4k is a bit cheap for Leica M9 ma haha... sorry a bit missunderstood there. Leica M9 = D3X OMG.

leica is actually very good at their lens... but i don't think the camera is meant for fast shooting...

Yeah...don't think it is high tech too.

1.Leica is silent.... u hear ntg when u snap, cool wasnt it?
buy it if u r spy, detective or wanna do street photography

2. small in size, even the lens is small like cup for chinese tea

3. Manual Focus

ISO range not high
lens line up is extremely limited, only 135mm prime

(last time i checked la, now din go update)

then is suitable for those paparazzi use........haha!!

with that hefty price tag, i can go for Nikon D3 + 85mm f1.4 VR + 70-200mm f2.8 VRII

hahaha... i like leica as a brand. same like some gals like LV... all about brand, a classic brand...

in film time, leica lenses were one of the top rank... they were badly hit in digital time so they started to work with panasonic, they then used panasonic sensors.. but this m9 is using kodak sensor, don't know why...
