Guys, after much reading of review of 40D vs D90 in the web and also advices from you all....it seems like D90 will be better choice comparing to 40D in term of spec.

But, at this point i still feel 40D would be a better choice considering it won't burn my pocket that badly and at its current price, i think that's a bargain.(as it's going to obsolete).

Try checking the price in SG canon website, it seems like they are still selling 40D Kit at high price ($1799). But other model are somehow the same price after conversion (2.4x).That's some RM700+ diff with malaysia (RRP price lar).

End of the day, still have to compare the physical camera esp. the menus layout and the "feel".

headache lar...

I don't quite understand the part burning your pocket,

Nikon D90 and Canon 40D body only is roughly the same pricing. Only differences is on the kit package, but they come with different range of zoom lens.

Solve the headache, D300s Razz. Pain one time :O

Prime is definitely sharp! Danny, D80/D90 can AF with it! Better still, D300(s)!

Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D does not come with built in AF motor like the AF-S. Therefore you will need built in AF motor from the body in order to AF with it. This built in motor is only available for D70 and above if not mistaken. The entry models from Nikon don't come with it.

You can still use the lens on the D60, but you cannot autofocus with it. Need to manually focus.

If you want to use 50mm prime on D60 and still able to focus, you need the 50mm f/1.4G, RM1700-RM1800 roughly I think as compared to the no motor one 50mm f/1.4D which is about RM1000.

Agree with Jonathan, either D90 or 50D! But if you're going for 50D, might as well D300/s straight.

Simmon full of poison ... hahaha! But Danny, be quick if you plan to get a D300. If not mistaken already discontinued and replaced with D300s already.

Canon has white L lens, where else Nikon's color coding is all black. So there comes the Dark Sider and the Bright Sider Razz.

D70 is a old model compared to D90. D70, D80 and D90 are all on the same range, just updates done to them.

wanting, if u watch starwars, the difference between the bright side and dark side would be:

nikon is darth vader... mysterious, evil, covered in dark, powerful and aggression, unpredictable...

canon is luke skywalker.... young, energetic, full of potential, compassion...

yet they are both very very strong....

lolz.... so choose ur side...
