Cheap, constant f/2.8 aperture for low light capability, better IQ compared to 18-105. What else do you need?jacksonccs wrote:This lens good? Can buy? I thinking abt that... Wht the good for this lens?
Another thing to take note is, is this screw driven or does it come with motor? AFAIK, the Nikon non VC that comes with motor AF very slowly.

Re: Tamron 17-50
You can either keep 18-105 for the tele end, or just sell and get a tele lens.jacksonccs wrote:So u mean buy the tamron n sell my 18105?

yeah, 18-105 is useless if in low light condition. 17-50 already can cover the range. However, for my opinion, dont waste your money on Non VC machine. if dont think about Nikon lens, i will definitely get VC version. anyhow, get opinion from Dilon. hehehe
Re: Tamron 17-50
Dilon would definitely go against the 17-50 VC based on his experience so far .

Re: Tamron 17-50
Check for fungus, dust, and focus issue. Check also lens mount condition.

Re: Tamron 17-50
Overall, the Tamron 17-50mm non-VC lens is sharper, has less vignetting, has a similar amount of CA and has less barrel distortion on the wide end but more pincushion distortion on the long end. Obviously the 17-50 VC has the 4-stop-rated stabilization advantage.
eh, if got money get the VC better oh....4 stop leh....hehe

Re: Tamron 17-50
For the old tamron 17-50mm NON VC no focus problem. Only lately this batch VC got focus problem. The only thing worry is the mount problem after use number of years. "But it depend on luck"
For sure that NON VC is Sharper than the VC version...
Is advicable to get Nikkor lens if got budget......
