Re: Some panning picture beside the road (practising)
try pan with faster shutter speed first....maybe 1/100 first and see whether ur subject is sharp or not..if sharp, can try 1/80, 1/60.....if cannot...change 1d4+ 70-200...sure can af one...wakaka
and use f like f13 is enough...smaller f like f22 actually not so sharp already

Re: Some panning picture beside the road (practising)
Aperture is just for exposure control, the key is shutter speed. Just practice more, you will be able to get better pics. 1/160s? That is for F1 is it... even if you shoot 1/160s on SuperGT cars also not much panning effects.

Re: Some panning picture beside the road (practising)
It is normal, during Super GT most of my shots also at f/22 because I was shooting at 1/30~1/60. Only way if you want to use lower is to shoot with a CPL filter or ND filters.desmondlau wrote:Thanks CY, I know the aperture is for exposure control dats why i put so small to balance the light for 1/15second

Using this kind of filter will make it darker so i don need to switch my F to be so small?
How much izit?

Re: Some panning picture beside the road (practising)
got nd2, nd4, nd8
nd2 = cut 1 stop
nd4 = cut 2 stop
nd8 = cut 3 stop
1 stop of light = f1.4 to f2 is 1 stop, f2.8,f4, f5.6,f8,f11,f16,f22,f32....
= iso 100 to 200, 400,800,1600....
= 1/10 to 1/20, 1/40,1/80,/160,1/320,1/640.....
means if u use nd8 for sport, ur shutter speed actually is 1/160, after use it, become 1/20
china brand less than rm100 got...good one like hoya i think 200 eh...not to sure about nd price
can use for slow shuuter as well...hehe

Re: Some panning picture beside the road (practising)
Yeap, but better to use CPL because it will enhance the color due to reducing reflections from the car surface.desmondlau wrote:CY wrote:It is normal, during Super GT most of my shots also at f/22 because I was shooting at 1/30~1/60. Nice try Desmond! Last 2 pics got improvement! To add on what others had mentioned, for better focusing, use AI Servo (i dunno if 550D got or not)
