Crazy Macro
read somebody's crazy invention in the middle of the friday night and rushed to bookstore the next morning to get my DIY things...
waited no more after DIYed it and rushed to lake garden to shot around...
these photos were taken by my sigma 24-70mm. this is definitely not a macro lens althought the minimum focus distance is 33cm. with the crazy DIY, it can be reduced to as close to the object as 10~15cm. and i started to shooting crazy... look at the blur out bokeh... hahaha
warning: never expect nice photos here... but some crazy shots... comments are welcome...

Re: Crazy Macro
of course don't mind lah...
i used magnifying glass to attach on my lens hood.
its magnificatioin factor is normally about 2x. so, inherently maintaining lens' default min focal lenght, i already have bigger object on my frame. and as i move further to the object (since it allows), i get even bigger object.
because a magnifying glass has a definite focal length, therefore anything slightly behind the focal length (the focused object) is completely blur out, this is what i was impressed...

Re: Crazy Macro
Thanks for sharing us your DIY, the photos indeed are good. I guess I will use this technique for macro if I don't own any macro lens.
Re: Crazy Macro
no harm trying...
i wanna buy another lens hood and glue it with the magnifying glass, but sigma got no 3rd party lens hood... fainted...
