Back to the basics
i was inspired by someone to share a tips per week (hopefully i got so many things to share)
This week, I would like to share 1 very common thing, that is, how to avoid hand shake
I truly understand how heavy is the DSLR after attach it to, say ergh, 70200mm lens
you will likely feel the weight (for newbie like me)
For Sony Alpha users, not much to worry thanks to built in steady shot. (somehow i never really go double check how true is this fact)
For vitamin C or N users, you can save money from getting yourself a VR or IS lens
HOW?
hehe
let's say u shoot with a 50mm lens, pls ensure than your shutter speed is 1/50
This is called reciprocal rule during the old days (all really pro film users that earn my salute and bows)
of coz... to achieve this speed, u need to adjust either the aperture or ramping the ISO, or both.
Normally film ppl prefer prime because it is lighter and can avoid hand shake.
(imagine only has ISO400 MAX for a film)
lastly, go youtube and see, there are many other methods, such as make use of your tripod mount (do a screw and wire to a metal plate, step of the metal plate and make sure the wire is straight=comfortable with your height). you can try use flash to freeze the moment.
hold the camera properly (as in the manual guide)
lastly, try hold your breathe for seconds can help too.
Upcoming "Back to the basics II" about Metering (the core of a camera)
Catch me at 22 September, stay tune

Re: Back to the basics
Useful for newbies like me,
I seldom apply the reciprocal rule mainly due to advancement in technology now, VR for Nikon and IS for Canon make it possible to go even slower shutter than the rule.
