Back to the basics (exclusively bonus for Hari Raya)
Hehe, I actually put an outline for the tips i m goin to share weekly
however, i find it is a bit too slow for weekly tips
So, treat this as an add on for this week
Imagine your camera Maximum ISO is only 3200
You are not allowed to use flash, or flash can not reach the subject (it is too far)
So, 1st thing come to your mind is to ramp up the iso to the maximum
For playing safe, shoot in RAW because further editing is easier
But how? if u ramp to ISO3200 and aperture is widest, say a, 5.6 for kit lens
the shutter speed is only 1/10
it is not enough to shoot that moment unless the subject is stationary
So, let's try this
must shoot in RAW
RAMP ISO to your max, lets say, 3200
then use EV, adjust it to -2
i m sure most of you all only know the picture is well exposed only at 0EV or slightly more than that
so by setting EV-2, u you will see the shutter speed is now 1/40. u can try EV-3 (on certain camera only)
then u will get 1/50
after snap, u will see the preview is totally dark
then u send to computer
adjust the exposure +2/3
then u will see the "moment"
bear in mind, use this method only at very critical moment (maybe flash gun no battery)
shoot in JPEG will not recover most of the colors, so now... we see 1 more benefit of shooting RAW
Dont try this at home, just joke
But the true is.... not everyone will like this method because the noise is very very KOW

Re: Back to the basics (exclusively bonus for Hari Raya)
just set to B/W if you really really really need to shoot at 3200, 6400 or higher!
no more noise, just grain
