Post by Jameslye Thu Sep 24, 2009 7:52 pm

Dear all,i am looking to buy a DSLR-Like camera like Nikon coolpix P90 and Canon PowerShot SX20 IS.Does anyone here tried them b4? I wan to use it as my casual camera and it has the all in one features. It has Macro plus tele which look very very impressive on the catalogs. Please feel free to give me any guidance and advise,it is highly appreciated. Smile

You mean Prosumer camera? I've tried the Panasonic FZ28 (I think, might have got the model wrongly). Not too bad, great zoom Very Happy.

Found this, f=4.8-86.4mm (35mm Equiv.: 27-486mm). A bit more than 300mm on crop sensor.

Clear or not, kinda subjective. I think if compared to your DSLR of course no need say. Anyways it is not mine, a friend of mine owns it. So managed to play a little that time.

Frankly, if you want to use a camera as your casual cam, something mobile might as well go for those smaller models. If you wanna bring something that size, might as well bring your DSLR. My 2 cents.

you are right CY,i ll look at the spec and have a feel on them first b4 i can actually decide what to have. The attractive part of the so called DSLR-like camera are the great tele and macro, tho you cant compare them to DSLR,at least they are there.Smile
